International Development

We provide a range of services in the international development field from in-depth field research through to specialized project management services.

We have field experience across the Asia-Pacific region including managing large multi-country projects. Our staff and consultants bring intimate knowledge of the cultures and societies of the region, including fluency in many of the region’s languages, as well as practical knowledge of all aspects of the international development field to our client’s work.

Synexe has the capacity to carry out a wide variety of projects for our clients ranging from work at an organizational level through to country and regional-level projects.

Capacity assessment of selected Civil Society Organizations in the Pacific

Synexe is undertaking a project for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) which is providing a capacity assessment of Pacific Island Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and an accompanying capacity development plan. This project includes in-depth fieldwork in six countries as well as desk-based research on the provision of programming options (at a national, sub-regional and regional level) for both partner countries and donors for increasing the effectiveness of CSOs in the region.

Sub-national governance in Papua New Guinea

Synexe has recently completed a study of sub-national governance processes in Papua New Guinea for NZAID looking at the interaction of central government structures with civil society actors, with local, district and provincial governments, and with traditional governance structures.
